Our Essential plan provides extensive international coverage for in-patient (hospitalisation) treatment. It is the minimum you need if you wish to have insurance cover for both emergency and elective treatment in a private hospital.

Plan Benefits

If you need treatment that requires you to stay in a private hospital for one or more nights, the Optimum Global Essential plan covers all associated costs including:

• hospital charges
• surgeons costs
• anaesthetists charges
• other related physician charges
• diagnostic tests
• all costs directly related to your time in hospital.

Additionally, you benefit from:

• cover for chronic conditions (unlike many international health insurance plans)
• cancer treatment
• organ transplantation
• medical evacuation to the nearest centre of medical excellence if suitable treatment is not available locally.

You are not limited to receiving treatment in the country in which you normally reside. Subject to your choice of cover, you can choose your place of treatment anywhere in the world.
